I think the standard is 4 periods - each with a start and stop and temp setting. Sleep, wake, daytime, evening, so that makes 8 change points but just 4 intervals.

Why do you need so many?

And that's 4 periods per day, either 7 or 5+2 days.

To be clear, weekmeister, many thermostats allow that a different schedule can be set for each of the 7 days. But, usually just 4 or fewer interval settings per day.

Emerson's Sensi WiFi thermostat does not have a discrete "hardwired" number of periods. It initially starts with nothing programmed, the user adds whatever periods are needed. Each day can be different. Programming can be done *only* via the WiFi app, *not* directly on the base unit. I have had 5 periods programmed but I don't know for sure if there is a limit.
