I will close my question about gas stoves. People have been very responsive and wish to thank everyone for their opinions. My daughter has decided to stay with her glass top electric stove for a little longer and start her basement laundry room reno instead. while the ceiling is being replaced, she will probably run the gas line over to where the gas stove would eventually go upstairs..
