What a CUTE house! I definitely would put a pediment over the window, probably an arched on to compliment the arch in the brick detail above. I would also paint the trim and the door a color to make the house pop. I can't quite tell what the roof color is, so I hesitate to make a suggestion. When picking house colors, think of a man's suit. The brick is the suit, the roof is the shirt and the door/trim is the tie!

id Plaster the brick window sills and yes put a pediment over the left window to match the sill which should tie it up the gutter colour scheme too .Rather than breath colour new colour into the gutters and trim etc I love the traditional look and would stick to it .To be honest the only thing I would do is clad the chimney top to bottom in a beautiful natural stone.Use the natural colour of the stone to lift the house? .A stone that reflects the colour of the roof tile and reflects specks of the cream colour of your pediment.
A stacking stone would just do the trick.

I hadn't considered playing all that arch! Interesting idea! The roof is sort of greyish-brown.

we have stone here called toodjay stone which suits your brick.

Since you have so much beige brick, I'd do a bright red, or turquoise color. But that's just me; I like bright colors. BTW, love your house! We bought a 1930s clapboard house that was covered with aluminum siding (UGH!) two years ago. We're just now getting around to tearing off the old siding. Luckily, the antique pine underneath is in great shape! We'll probably paint ours yellow and red.

You might consider replacing the concrete walkway with stone pavers - looks like there is some uplifting going on, due to the roots of the beautiful trees nearby. Natural stone would compliment the exterior of your home in addition to the other changes you are considering.

Or a brick walkway! That's what I plan to do--eventually. Our house originally had brick columns on the front, too, instead of the wrought iron. You're so lucky that you have so much of the original brick.

And...forgot to say that I think adding a pediment of some kind would look great there over that window.

I would trim your home in a coffee color or dark Carmel. I'd paint the door cinnamon, burnt orange ( not quite a sienna.
