It's a matter of personal preference. Straight edges read more modern, while rounder edges lean to the traditional side.

The more round the edges, the less likely the chipping. Square or eased edges will chip, no matter the material. Not if, when.

I'm no designer, but nothing says "dated look" more than chipped edges.

I would see if they have a 3/8" radius. Still simple and clean but round enough that is much less likely to chip. Just please don't do any clipped corners :)

Thank you everyone for your in put, I love the square edge but from reading here it might be a problem with chipping. I currently have a rounded "bullnose" laminate which to me is really dated. Since it is so expensive to change I am hoping to make the right choice for the long term. I love the look of marble in quartz.

@ Joseph -- "dated" and "worn" are not the same. one is about fashion, the other about maltreatment or damage of other kinds.

I would never get a rounded edge because that causes your eye to misjudge where the actual edge is, with the result that more things tip over. stick with eased and don't sweat the worriers.

It's your money; spend it as you see fit. I get $300.00, my minimum charge, for fixing a chip the size of a match head. Pulling your sink and faucet, re-profiling your sink edge, polishing, and reconnecting the faucet and sink is double that. Two chips on separate occasions and you've paid for the edge you never got but need to reduce the chance of chipping.

If you'd rather look mahvelous than feel mahvelous, square that edge and pray I don't retire soon.
