Germinating Artichokes

I recently purchased a 36X54X78 greenhouse with six inch side mounted shelves. It appeared too flimsy to be used outside and I wanted it to improve climate control for germinating garden seeds; so I set it up in my basement. I already had 3 4 feet daylight quality fluorescent shop lights; so I set two of those up and balanced them on 2 lower shelves. I also already had a 18X18 root warmer which is too large for the shelves; so I set that up on the floor below the lights. The temperature in my basement runs from 58-65 degrees. I am hoping that the lights and the root warmer on fro 12 hours will keep the temperature closer to 70-75 degrees so that I can germinate my Italian, purple artichoke seeds and my paw paw tree seeds. I used last year's potting soil that I saved for the seed pots and microwaved 1/2 gallon at a time for 6 minutes to sterilize it. Any additional suggestions?
