Help with Kitchen!

Hi everyone, my home was flooded due to hurricane harvey and now I am forced to make A LOT of decisions very quickly. I would love your assistance with a color matching for the kiitchen.

I have decided on 16x32 Carrara Porcelain as to avoid having to replace hardwood in the case of another flood. Picture is linked below and though it looks like it has brown veins, in person it is white and grey.

Some information is that the kitchen is a rectangle shape and we will have an 8x4 ft island. I would prefer to avoid dark cabinets as well as bright white. With that said, I am seeking advice on color of cabinetry, backsplash and hardware. Advice is desperately needed and photos are highly encouraged! Thanks in advance

Have you tried to look at either a black / charcoal cabinet color or a blueish grey cabinet color for the kitchen and your tile?

forget the backsplash and hardware for now. that's last. you want to match cabs to this marble looking tile? to me it looks like it belongs in a bathroom. what else is going on the other part of the room where this tile is going? what is your style? if you have big brown sectionals, this is not going to work.

if this is just going into your kitchen, then do a very light gray cabinet color (white would also work. doesn't have to be super bright white), or do a light wood.

what kind of countertop are you doing? with that flooring, you're stuck w/blacks, or whites, or grays.

@Possley We want a classic look that will stand the test of time and I don't feel that those colors will match the traditional look of our 70's home. The ceilings are 8ft. If you have a moment, please read my response to Beth for more details. Thanks for your help!

@Beth Yes, I would like to find a color to match the cabinets. we will have an 8x4 island. This tile will go along the whole first floor of the house. (living room, kitchen, dining room, half bath) I would prefer to not do dark or very bright white cabinets. We already own very dark grey couches for the living room where we have two white french doors with black hardware. We have dark brown stained built in wine rack and shelving in the dining room. I would like to find a way to make this tile and coloring work so the whole downstairs looks adhesive. Unfortunately we bought this tile very early on before we had a plan and now we are stuck with it. We love it individually but are having a hard time incorporating everything together.

Note-- I would be open to making the island a dark brown color if you think that will match the tiles. The countertops haven't been decided but we don't want white or black. We went to stoneyard and liked a few granite types: Juperana Bahamas, Blanco white moon, Fantasy brown hard marble, Fantasy Grey Hard marble. These are just some ideas- more are welcomed. Thanks for your help!

I was over at a friend's house today and she has a similar tile - it is very pretty - much prettier than I thought it would be when she told me about it. She has mid tone wood cabinets. While hers are older, I am seeing many white oak cabinets in some new design pics. Sometimes the oak is the whole kitchen, other times combined with white.
