Recessed Ceiling Venting Question

I would love any input on recessed ceiling vent hoods such as the best cirrus or zephyr lux arc solution. I've also been looking at the Cattura best downdraft. Thank You!

Also, the induction cooktop is on our 9 foot peninsula. See schematic

You need a better kitchen design. You’re trying to cram too much and too little into the space. That back wall is overcrowded to its detriment. And the open shelves hinder, not help, your storage issues.

A range on the back wall would be a MUCH better layout. And easier, cheaper, and more effectively vented straight out the side wall. Those ceiling vents are big jokes to anyone who knows anything g about the science of ventilation.

Thanks Sophie. I appreciate your honesty:) Where would you suggest the wall ovens go?

No wall ovens. Range. Or, what’s on the other wall? You might be able to fit one there.

A built in refrigerator is on the other side opposite of sink

Post the layout. There’s a whole lot of wall there that isn’t covered by a fridge.

Yes 5 feet 5 inches to the right

So why isn’t that 65” pulling its weight? That’s a whole wall of tall to house a whole lot of things. Better there than on the back wall overcrowding everything and making a black hole out of the corner.

    Great points. Thank you Sophie!

Last ? Sophie:) what if I wanted to keep wall ovens in that section? What about stacking them? If I did, it would give me about 5 1/2 feet of counter space vs 3 feet as current plan. Also, is there a reason you don't recommend cooktops on island in an open concept room?

That is not a good location for tall cabinets period. They need to go. Cooking is only 10% of the time you spend in a kitchen. Prep is 70%. Make the peninsula into a great prep station. Rather than keeping your nose in the corner as a time out. Venting an island is 4x as expensive and FAR less effective than a cooking zone located against a wall.

So think of stacking wall ovens and put induction beside them to make that the cooking zone and the peninsula as the prep zone?

Okay we need an actual floor plan with as much detail as possible. Ilike tall cabinets with pull out pantries on the same wall as the fridge , I would remove the shelves I do not like cooktops in islands unless you have a one storey house where venting through the ceiling is possible , downdrafts such and not in a good way.I do agree the wall ovens if possible need to be in that wall of high cabinets. That is why we needa floor plan with all the measurements possible.

We do have a 1 level ranch with basement. No upstairs. Ceilings are 8 feet. The problem with moving ovens is that puts them on a wall where the walkway into the kitchen is. We have designed a walk-in butler pantry just off of the kitchen-we have a lot of storage there.
