Need help for my living room

I have built a new house that i need to paint the living room
The floor is wooden mahogany and i need a color that complements that and the color should be bright to lighten up the room...
I chose pink,red,gold,yellow,green,blue and my husband says they are all feminine...he wants a different neutral bright color....Help!!
