Cute lil thing. Wonder how it would do in a terr?...... Have several mini's myself which need to try terr life. Like the variegated ones like yours.

I've contemplated putting one of the babies in a terrarium. I've done some reading that says one of the varieties I have in particular is well suited to closed ones, but I'm too new to terrariums and minis both to really speculate.

Closed terrs are typically more difficult to keep healthy long term. The lack of air circulation and constant dampness provides an ideal habitat for many fungi and bacteria which can be detrimental to the health of the plants within. An open or semi closed terr usually proves easier with less issues.

I am siding with Paul. 100% humidity environment is not for AVs. Keeping the terrarium semi-covered creates a healthier environment. Nothing wrong with Saran wrap with an inch opened.

That's good to know -- I'll not be getting fancy with this first round of mini babies, but maybe for one day in the future if I get bored. Right now I have to figure out how to not kill them in the real non-terrarium world! :)

I will side with Irina and Paul too. When I have babies that small I place them in a small covered plastic container with holes until they get a little bigger and a larger root system before I place them in a traditional little cup. Works everytime!

Ok, let me back up. My idea of an enclosed (and I should not have used that "E" word, sorry), is always with a small air flow. I always prop the top open a little, or don't cover it all the way somehow. I just can't stand to have something closed up totally. I misspoke, sorry. Rosie
