Need help deciding on Buffett / server piece

I am looking for ideas for a server / Buffett / sideboard to go on wall with clock on it. I provided a couple other pics so you can get a sense of room. Dimensions for piece I am looking for is 45-55 inches (w) x 36 inches (h) x 18 inches (d). The wall is 68 inches wide but I’m thinking 45-55 so I don’t overwhelm the wall. I’m also thinking we want something painted in white family on bottom half and stained dark on top half maybe but open to suggestions ? Please provide pictures with ideas that may look good with current decor. The round table is from 70’s and is real solid oak. So, to some extent the new piece will need to accent or somewhat match the table. The company that made table is Cochrane and they went out of business. Thanks in advance and again pictures for ideas are worth their weight in gold.

Why not where the high chair is instead. I find the wall with the clock a bit congested with the doorawys and please take the clock away guests do not need to reminded of the time while visiting add a nice piece of art on that wall and maybe a shallow shelf . I find the wall color a bit much and I love the green in the halway could you bring that into this space.You need to lower the light so that the bottom is about 30” from the table top.

If you aren't in a hurry why not start looking for an antique? I have an antique oak sideboard I got in trade for an old sofa.

Patricia, it’s actually a gray in that room. We love kitchen color. Can you provide server / Buffett picture suggestions that would accent table which was original question ? Thanks.

Patricia, also the reason we don’t want on other wall is because their is less room in between table and wall than in between the wall with clock. You would be more crammed over there and plus you’d have to go around table to get to the server. I can appreciate your advice about doorways but if the piece we pick doesn’t end up being too wide we should be fine.

50 inches is as wide as I would go (75% of the wall's width) but that particular wall is too busy for anything else. I agree that the high chair wall is better. Removal of the clock and a new light fixture would be priorities for me.

You can’t see space between table and that wall or you’d change your mind. The table is centered over light and as it is it would be more crammed and people would be tripping over chairs to get to coffee on server. Do you mind focusing on question at hand ? I appreciate your suggestion on light and I’ll get to that but can you provide a picture ?

thats a good idea. find an old oak sideboard to use (all day long on craigslist or yard sales)

it's difficult to find a pic replicating your set up. commanding us to do so doesn't make it easier. you're going to have to use some imagination

.If enough room, put the sideboard where the highchair is, against that wall. you need some art on the walls.

. this would be a nice accent w/your kitchen.

can't find anything like yours, so look at this one. see how low the light is? notice the buffet behind the table w/art,,,lamps? a rug,, all of these make a dining room a bit more homey.

any way to do any built in seating?

even if it means raising the windows, it might be worth it.
