Extending Front Porch on a Split

Hello! Does anyone have any ideas on potentially extending the front porch or adding a gable to my front entrance. I know the landscaping needs some help, we have already done a lot of work to that since this picture was taken so I'm just looking for some ideas on the porch area. I've looked for examples of houses that have a peak added, but I can't find anything very similar to my house. It would need to be a somewhat budget friendly idea because as you can tell we will also be in the market for a new roof soon. Thanks so much in advance!

Here's the most popular split reno on Houzz. you could add a gable over the 3 windows on eht right and then extend something like this entry over the door.

Here is the "before" shot. The door isn't quite as recessed as yours, but I think it could work. This one was done in Craftsman style, which really suits.

what to you is "budget friendly"? Around here a portico (framing, masonry porch, electrical, etc) can run $20-40k.

That sounds about right cost wise.

deco is right, the inspiration pic she shows is the only one I found that has a gable added to the front. The others below have a covered entry but they are more modern in style. Each started with the same home you have and were renovated.

Wow! These are so beautiful! I really love the craftsman look with the gable coming off the front. I wonder how that would look if we were to only add the gable above the front door. I mentioned this project to my husband and he did not seem as enthusiastic as I did haha! We just did our kitchen so I think he wants a break from renovations for a while. Hopefully if I show him these pictures though I could convince him to maybe take it on when we do the roof. Thanks!

So we did end up replacing the roof and adding a portico! My husband did an awesome job! You can see we also are working on the landscaping. Next step is new siding! Ours is warped and a mess. Any ideas on color?
