Hi! I actually like the backsplashes you selected - but not for your kitchen... the granite is quite busy, so I would probably go for something more uniform and lighter (off-white). I know they’re super ubiquitous, but maybe light subway tiles?

That’s what I was thinking also. I don’t love subway tile as much I love the glass/stone mixtures but I think if I went with subway tile I would be happier with the end result! Thanks so much for your input!

Have you considered anything in black? Or Subway tiles in beige/brown?

Are you going to remove the small backsplash?

I haven’t considered black, I’m going for a beachy-airy look but now that you say it it would probably look nice with the granite. I haven’t decided if I’m going to remove the other backsplash or not. What are your thoughts?

if you can remove the three inch backsplash without damage to the countertop, I'd do it.
and, I'd look at simple backsplash. not white. too much contrast with cabinets and granite. Black or deep brown. even a metallic tile. but monochromatic. too much going on in your granite for the backsplash examples you showed, Imo.

In my humble opinion, the tile in the last photo is pretty yet much too busy and would detract from your granite. I would choose a neutral subway tile that has a color which is in the granite.

Most of your selections are the wrong color tones; grays won't work with the counter and cabinets. The elongated hex is the best of the bunch color wise; look for colors similar to the hex.

None of the above IMO all too busy and in some cases not even the right colors to go with the counter. This counter is busy keep the backspalsh simple , maybe a glass subway tile in a color from the counter with matching grout.That backsplash you already have will of course need to be removed.

I think I have same granite in my kitchen. I feel all your selections are too busy and don't match the granite. I would go with a very simple tile in one of the colors from the granite.

If you aren’t removing the small backsplash, I wouldn’t add anything at all. Not a good look. If you are, I would do a simple one color tile picking up a color in the granite.

Here is a link to a thread about the same issue. The poster has similar granite. All her original choices were also too busy. As I said in the thread, what looks cool on a small sample board often looks overwhelming in the whole space.

Beautiful kitchen! I agree with the previous comments. I would not do anything for a backsplash. It would be visually too busy with the granite, I’ve never seen that be successful. I would leave it just as it is, it very clean and pretty.

All beautiful but all to busy. When selecting counters and a blacksplash one selection can be busy, but not both. You need a plain tile that could be textured.

the granite is very busy. you and I know, you can't have two points of "impact."
if the op keeps the busy granite, which is quite pretty, the backsplash needs to be simpler, and subordinate

I would not bother to with a backsplash, instead I would replace the range with a slide in, and update accessories and cabinet hardware. Trying to find a tile to go with the granite and floor tile and cabinet style is going to be an exercise in frustration.

Majority rules scratch all of those options and go with a solid subway glass tile

Anne, I would love to redo my kitchen but unfortunately budget doesn’t allow. If it were my choice i would have wood floors and beautiful creamy cabinets with a plain marble and textured backsplash but... until I hit the lotto I don’t suppose that will happen.

Yes, remove the 3 inch granite and a simple subway will update the space. All your choices are too busy. I have a similar kitchen: cherry cabinets, dark granite, 3 inch trim. The 3 inch trim is an outdated look... just by removing that and adding subway tile you will have a much refreshed and updated style.I have the same plan for my kitchen and to replace my island granite.
