This is a form of Pittosporum tenuifolium. It's nice to have the scientific name to help you look it up. There is a reference I found here on Houzz/Garden Web that says hers got to 5'x6' and another person needed to prune it twice annually to keep it to 2' wide x 18" tall.

Not a huge shrub so not a huge root system. And non-invasive. The root system is not a concern regarding the shrub's siting close to the house but the ultimate size of the shrub is.....ideally it should not touch and there should be sufficient clearance behind the shrub to paint, clean off the siding, lay mulch, etc.
