Plate glass, which is the most popular type of glass used, has a green tint. This glass has low iron content, making it much less green. We make this counter using either types of glass.

Can you let me know how the glass is attached to the supports. We have a 1" glass bar which is currently sitting on top of wooden support and not secured with standoffs. I would prefer not to have the glass drilled and the top of the standoff shown on the top of the glass. Is there a glue I could use which would adhere to the standoff and the glass?

You're right. Drilling the glass can compromise its strength, not to mention how it looks and the bit more difficulty in cleaning. We typically use clear silicone to attach the glass to stand-offs. If you'd like to email a picture of your installation, we can give you some specific feedback.

Hi, the glass is approximately 84" x 16" and is 1" thick, it rests on wood supports on an island. Will the stand- offs attach to glass securely if I use a silicone glue. The weight of the glass is what makes me think that drilling is needed....

I believe my client emailed you a picture today of the bar glass....I think I may have it figured out - I didn't know that CLR has the UV fusion glue you can use with the UV standoffs. I'm doing my research, I just got off the phone with them.... How in the world do you get a big piece of glass on top of the standoffs without getting the glue smudged around. I understand you use the UV light to cure it, does the glue wipe off the glass before you cure it?....I tried to get answers from CLR, but the service tech for the UV support is out today...
