Love the color and decor, but not a fan of tv over mantel. Is it possible to move tv to opposite wall? Or place sofas at right angle and tv under windows to left or right of fireplace.

I think you did a great job with such a narrow room. The flow works great. I can see this is a family room and game room and love the pics of family in the room.

The only suggestion I have is to pare it down. Not every corner of the room needs to be filled.

Take out the corner unit.

Remove vase next to fireplace.

See if moving the Basket near the fireplace next to the Love seat on the far end of the love seat would work.

Remove what is behind the end table. Do you really need the end table? You have good lighting above. Something to think about. Less is more lol

Put the Desk under the Gallery of framed pictures and remove the Cabinet (not sure what it really is) there. Move Cabinet to where desk is.

Remove round maroon decor from wall and look for a some colorful art to put above it.

Take down mirror and add more family photos. Make that your family wall and keep all photos there.

By the way I am not an interior decorator, but love rearranging. These are just some suggestions. I am sure you will hear some great advise soon.

Move the TV to the back wall where the mirror is. Rearrange the sofas to fit that. Remove valances, they just instantly date a room. Other than that just edit. Remove all the little objects, vases, plants etc. and pare down. Less is more.

Sina it doesn't look like the room is wide enough to do that and leave a walkway.

I would remove the wall sconces. I would add a few throw pillows and would repeat the wall color - some shade of the gold even if lighter - in them.

Underneath the mirror on the back wall, is that a play kitchen? What's on top?

I would probably remove the corner cabinet if you don't need it. If you do it keep maybe consider changing the frames out so they're the same color. Maybe remove the corner cabinet and just use the top of the desk for a few frames in the same color. Maybe two on side side and a grouping of three on the other. The right side for the three grouping maybe a portrait position, landscape, and a smaller square.

Thank you for all the great suggestions. A year ago we moved our tv from the wall opposite the fireplace because we felt we needed the wall. I recently moved the loveseat from the wall opposite the tv after I purchased a coffee table. The cabinet under the mirror is actually my daughter's toy kitchen which she's done playing with so it will not be staying. I agree with the window treatments being outdated and the end table, vase next to the fireplace and the corner unit can go. The corner unit houses our cable box etc so I'll need to think about my other options. I'm wondering if I need to place something underneath the wheel on the wall. No it doesn't need to be. It depends on the wall. If you have room for a console table there you could use one but I don't think there has to be something there for you to use photos or art on the wall.

I wish the area rug were somewhat larger since your furniture is large. It would also make the room look larger. I second all the other suggestions. Valances, decluttering, replacing that round ornament on the stairway wall with some nice pictures, also the red, round object over the secretary, replacing the mirror on the wall which seems to have no function, etc. Sorry if I've repeated what others have said. Would it be possible on having simple cream side panels on your windows to make the room look more complete and balance out the furniture? I admire your color scheme; it's bold but it works.

Clear all the surfaces, windows and walls. Remove all other pieces except the desk, coffee table and seating. Sell the loveseat on Craig's List. Replace it with a pair of swivel armchairs. Buy a credenza 25% wider than the TV. Place it and the TV on the back wall where you have the mirror and pix now. Float the sofa where you now have the loveseat. Place the two swivel chairs opposite it. With the coffee table centered on the firebox, pull all the seating to within 18" or less of the table. To replace all the family photos, have a professional photo of the entire family done and hang it 5" above the desk which should be placed opposite the fireplace. Get a piece of art no wider than the firebox and hang it 5" above the mantel. If the seating/coffee table/desk are feels too cramped you may opt for a smaller coffee table. Once drapes area properly installed, there won't be room for the desk between the windows. You could opt for inside mounted fabric roman shades if you prefer and want the wall space between the windows for the desk. bit it is still tight (filling only 75% of the space makes for better balance.) Matching drapery color to your walls will visually enlarge the room. Lighting could include a new semi-flush ceiling fixture, a pair of floor lamps flanking the fireplace, and one floor lamp between the windows and a desk lamp.
