I got tired of waiting for Spring and pulled out 2 natal plums that were too large for front walkway. They've bugged me for awhile and never should have been planted in such a narrow bed where they over flow onto walkway. No, I didn't put them there. I knew there were other things like invasive bleeding heart vine there but hadn't really noticed this one. It looks familiar but I can not place it or identify in garden shrub book photos. I'm trying to determine what it is so I know if I should grant it eminent domain or get rid of it.

My husband saved the natal plums planting them at the back of the property bordering the vacant lot behind us in case I ever find a place for them.

Croton... I love them. I have 1 and since they are slow growers would seem ideal for this bed EXCEPT I am zone 10a and 1 book I have says they are not hardy here. I see quite few but maybe they are replaced regularly. I did notice at 2 big nurseries they were in screen houses which I took to mean they needed shade but maybe they are just protecting them.

Surinam cherry shrubs. I have 2 but recently read they are invasive. Is this true?

My mother in law had an old FL gardening book that actually highlighted Brazilian cherry as a tree to grow and clearly that was a big mistake so I don't want to be growing Surinam if it's going to be a problem.
