New leaves on citrus are always pale and translucent. They darken as the age. Fertilizer and sunlight will make them look healthier in the long run. These leaves appear like they’ll end up being mostly yellow, so they are even lighter than usual. I think your tree just needs a little sunlight and time.

It is a variegated variety. The leaves are often affected heterogeneously with some leaves showing mostly green and others being highly variegated. I think chances are quite high that it is mislabelled and is actually a variegated Eureka.

What type of lighting is it getting? Do you spray it with anything? What kind of soil is it in? How often do you water it?

Alanna, thanks. I have a few others that are sprouting new leaves and they're pretty light too. None are white, but I was growing concerned. Good to know that's just how they look.

brettay, I'm pretty sure that's what it is too. I'm cool with that. It's interesting looking, and if I can get it to thrive, I'll be happy. I was concerned that it was some type of root stock for a while because I had never seen thorns like that, but some research showed that young Eurekas do this.

Kelly, I have it in a south facing window in a highly amended organic soil mix. It gets pretty direct sun from 8am-3pm. I only spray it with some water and some neem oil once a week because I just got i about two weeks ago and it, and it had a few pests. I've only watered it once since I got it because it's winter and the soil doesn't require much more. The soil I have isn't soggy, but doesn't dry out very quickly. I'll probably be switching it and all of my others to a 5-1-1 mix in early March when they go outside.
