slhoch - I really like your color scheme - lovely contrasts. After all this work, I'd suggest just a little more! If you only have a few tiles left over, make a nice clean sample board with one grout color, let it dry a couple of days and look at the tile and grout in all lighting. Taking pictures of course. Then, just chip up the tiles (I use double sided tape to affix them) and lay again on your sample board, using the other grout choice. I'll link here to my most recent grout post. If you can take pictures of the sample boards in place (in decent lighting), I can photoshop to give you the bigger picture effect. I am looking for pictures taken from straight on (not like the ones I show in the post above). Again, you do have to wait a couple days for the final grout colorl

oldbat2be - thanks for the suggestion but I am grouting tomorrow. I am a graphic designer and use Photoshop so this is something I could have done but don't have the time. And, I do not have enough tiles left to do a decent sample board anyway....plus I just tossed out what was left of my thinset. I had left a message with the sales person at Heath Ceramics earlier today with the same question. She did call me back (yay!) and she suggested the Delorean Gray for a number of reasons. There are some lighter areas in my Raven countertop that the Delorean matches quite close. She also emphasized that the Delorean will have a decent amount of contrast with the tile without being overdone. I do like dark grout when I see it in photos however I think it might be a little too industrial for my house. My goal was to have a kitchen that was nice to look at without becoming dated in 5-10 years. Yes, it's a little on the conservative side but it's waaaay better than my old kitchen. I'd use the lighter grout. I have white subway tiles and did natural gray grout in the bathroom and oyster gray in the kitchen. Both have a good amount of contrast, but the lighter grout makes imperfections less obvious. Not saying you did a bad job! Just that I notice small issues more in the bathroom even with a professional tiler.

I vote for the lighter grout too! and I don't think either of these would be a mistake.
