If it was mine, I'd prob paint it. But here are some pics to show you what it looks like. if you're leaving it as is, then play up the mcm vibe to the space (but those 1980's verticals should really go)

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, replacing the pendant light has been definitely been on my to do list. I have found a pendant light from West Elm that I will be replacing it with. I am not sure if I have the right art to put up yet. Any suggestions? The black wall is a chalkboard wall with rustic art hung. Are you suggesting that I take it down?

no, the chalkboard is fine. I thought it was some sort of faux painting technique!

as for your art, get whatever you like. Just make sure it's size appropriate for that wall. (no tiny prints or family portraits)

Need a better shot of the entire kitchen please. Only paint your brick if the colour you decide to paint it goes with the adjacent room. If you paint the brick on the kitchen side, you MUST paint the same colour on the brick on the other side of the door opening. Not sure if there is a living room there or what room is there? You could go with a colour you love IF it fits with the other room as well. The colour as is, seems to be the same neutral as your kitchen cabinets?? You may also consider then, painting out that black wall divider that looks like a chalkboard right now and go with a punch of colour there instead. Again, it must go with the room next to it. I feel like your table is in the wrong place. If you keep this round table consider moving the cabinet closer to the door opening rather than where it is now. Your table and chairs should be over by the window. I agree with the previous comment to get rid of the blinds and go with a sheer curtain or nice print on a curtain(softer). You could put up three vertical, similar matted/framed pieces of art that go side by side with even spaces in between on the section of wall above the dining table. Also consider a rectangular table, which I feel would better suit the visual lines of your kitchen. It could go right up against the wall centered if the cabinet is placed on the section of wall to the right of the door opening. If you go this route, center the three picture frames above the table. Another option would be to place your dining table near the window to create a nook feeling once again, use pictures frames above it, but get rid of that cabinet and place a nice credenza to the right of your dining table.
