We bought our new house in 2014, however, we didn't get to pick any of the finishes. We have the same dark stained floors as the cabinets pictured here in our kitchen, which makes the home feel very dark. We do have a ton of natural light, and windows, along with lighter grey furniture and walls, but in the Oregon winters, it still feels dark to me. I'm trying to talk my husband into painting our kitchen cabinets white, maybe leave the island the wood stain. I would definitely have them professionally done, and was thinking the same white color as our trim and doors, SW Downy.

What do you think? Eventually, i'd like to change the back splash to a herringbone subway pattern, and then the countertops to a white quartz, but for now, I'm stuck on the cabinets. Is there a way to use this photo and show me what it would look like if the cabinets were white, to help me visualize.

I should also mention we've changed the pendants already to a copper industrial pendant, and then I would change the cabinet hardware to a more modern pull. Walls are painted SW Mindful Grey.
