What can stay or go? What are you willing to change? Paint, furniture, rugs?

my son just purchased this home the furniture belongs to the previous owner they will be starting from scratch.

I would put the dining room table close to the wall ..and place the three sofas in a U - shape around the Windows ...to seperate the spaces . And yes , one sofa in front of the entrance from the kitchen ..with its back towards the kitchen
Perhaps you have room for a narrow credence behind it and facing the kitchen. Hard to see the dimensions ...but just emphasize the view towards the beautiful French doors ..and view ..so you don't look into the wall and difference hallways ..instead towards the outdoors .

my son and his wife have no time, both work in Auto Dealerships...I'm getting ideas for them, because they want me to help them.

This is the kitchen, they have plenty of space for informal eating,
