You could leave them and add some hardware and other white elements. I personally wouldn't do espresso. You could also do a two tone - white on top grey or grey- blue on the bottom so it's not too white

I definately want a different color on the cabinets. I don't like the look of oak. Two-toned would be a good option.

Espresso would be dark. If you don't like cabs you can always reface them. Saves tons of money. You can put baskets with greens on top of cabs, which will add some warmth to the space. Also, painting the walls will make a big difference; color depends on your likes and dislikes. I don't see color anywhere; so think about what you like. What season do you like best; then use those colors in your home. It's a start.

I'd paint the walls, maybe Revere Pewter. Stain the cabinetry a java or espresso finish. You could leave the counters as is. Maybe consider installing a backsplash as well. I would suggest painting the upper cabinets white, stain the bottom ones dark, and definitely add a back splash - makes a bit difference! Subway tile is always a good option, or glass tiles. I know you didn't ask for extra, but a new window treatment, maybe a roman shade in a print would be nice, and if it's within your budget, I would update the lighting in the kitchen to remove the large light, add can lights in the ceiling and a few pendant lights on the peninsula. An electrician should be able to do that fairly easily for you. Good luck!

take a look at this kitchen we did that all white appliances and counter tops. Just add color with accent pieces and hardware on the cabinet doors.

I agree with Granite Transformations, paint the wall first. It's cheap and easy to reverse if you don't like it. See what a right bold color can do for plain cabinets.

I am in the same boat as you. Just inherited a very blah kitchen. I would add trim to above all your cabinets to make them look more custom. Paint them a color that separates the floor from the cabinets but does not compete with the white counters, add hardware and change the wall color and throw down some rugs. I would maybe add bead board to the "island" area or some kind of decorative trim as well. Good luck!

I would stain the cabinet with a white or off-white paint. If you want it done properly, you should remove the cabinet and sand them lightly everywhere. You could also look into painting and/or lacquering the countertop. Good luck :)
