Venetian Star this year - good growth but very unhappy with all the excessive rain and deer.

I am a bad Hosta mom. I rescued my pitiful p. Venus from under a sea of Rue seedlings. I hope it eventually looks and flowers like yours Steve.

Extroverted Introvert and nicholsworth it does appear shrub like doesn't it. That is Astilbe "Color Flash Lime". It was only on it's 2nd year in the garden when I took that pic. I have been impressed with it and like it much better than A. "Color Flash".

Valley's Blue Curacao, almost forgot about this little newbie. Photo taken August 6, and still has lots of blue left. How blue might it be when it matures? I'm excited.

Paula, I hope you can kick the cold quickly. ..."my perfume is Rainy Day Fresh" LOL, that cracked me up! I carry a couple Clorox disinfectant wipes in a baggie in my purse whenever I go out.

I'm watching the dog agility championship. All different kinds of dogs and all of them are having fun. As always, the Border Collies are like rockets on the course.

Beth, I need one of those slow gardening signs. Last year my neighbor across the street made a wide turn into her driveway and almost clipped me when I was weeding by the curb. She never did see I was there.

old_dirt/Jerry, that's a great looking Valerie's Vanity. Those leaves are perfection.

While looking up VV at the HL, I see how many Valley hostas there are now. A lot!

peren.all, I got both of those astilbe new last year, but didn't like my Color Flash Lime a whole lot...hopefully that'll change next year (yours is beautiful). Interestingly, I loved the red foliage on my Color Flash, but did not see it in bloom, although I'm kinda not expecting anything spectacular from it since I think its focus is more on foliage than flowers.

Thank to all for showing V-hosta and astilbe. Color Flash is late to bloom.

mbug, I was really disappointed in Victory. But if mine grows up to look like yours, I won't be disappointed anymore! This was it in 2016.

It looked better in 2017. I don't have a good picture of it though. I ended up moving it late last summer to a different location because I wanted to put something more exciting in its spot.

I am taking another look at the "Valley" hostas. I have and love Valley's Chute the Chute. It has such great texture and rich color. I've got one in the shade in a pot and one in the sun. It stays bright and hold up in the strong sun. I just may have to do an order this year.

This was an unnamed plant that I've called Vinnie for years. It is probably either Gold Edger or Gold Drop.

Steve and newhostalady: Thanks for your comments on Vulcan. I saw lovely hosta on a garden tour, took a pic of it, and then tried to figure out what it was. The home owner tried to help by going through her labels in her binder but this hosta wasn't there. Eventually I showed it to Lynn at Shades of Green and she thought it was Vulcan or Enterprise so I checked them both out and decided on Vulcan.

Vanilla Cream — this was so disappointing the first two years that I dug it up to throw it away, but it had a huge root mass so I put it back and it looked like this the following year.
