My kitchen island is 60 by 40 and I have the electrical done for 2 pendant lights over it. The problem is that the contractor put them 20” apart.
This limits my pendant choices immensely.
I want to buy lights that are the showpiece of the kitchen but the only 8” or 9” mini pendants that I can get are simple with no interest.

Firstly, I want to know if there are any “rules” as to how far apart pendant lights should be.
All I’ve been getting are that 12” pendants are too large because if they are installed they will only be 8” apart.
In hindsight it doesn’t bother me but I would like to get some opinions.

I like gold/brass for the lights.
