I would strongly advise against it. Between the energy consumption, noise, and potential install issues (many commercial units need drains) It's rarely worth the effort.

Also getting service on the unit will be very difficult if not impossible (commercial servicers will often refuse to service in homes) and very expensive (No warranty).

Commercial units typically have very little insulation = very noisy and they throw off a TON of heat.

We just did a catering gig in a residence on the Upper West Side last night for 90+ ppl. It's a prewar building called "The Clebourne" if you're interested, it's incredibly beautiful.

I was in and out of their built in commercial sized fridge countless times, it was quiet, efficient, (no glass door), my hubs said goodbye to it as we left.

I would avoid this unless your home needs a huge capacity kitchen for catering for hundreds of people (aka walk-ins). I live on the top of a mountain and have to keep a bit more food stocked than when we lived in the valley. I settled on 36” all fridge and all-freezer Sub Zeros. I’m extremely happy with them and they were used. We have an open design and noise is a big issue. If you have your heart set on commercial, just make sure you can live with the noise.
