Microfiber mop for dry dusting floor

I recently bought a new microfiber mop, I got the one linked to below. I am very happy with it so far -- it's a breeze to use and study. What I don't like too much is the dry duster -- it works like a charm but doesn't release the hair well in the wash and the loops are starting to come unraveled already after only two washes. So, my question is can I just use the regular pads to dry dust the floor? They seemed to pick up the dog hair when I tried it but my concern is scratching the floor. I don't think this kind of mop head would scratch, but I thought I would ask just in case.
