Kitchen - walls and dogs and wainscot

I have a long empty wall in my kitchen which leads to a door to a sunroom and then the backyard. We are still in the middle of remodeling so that is the only back door in use. There is another door in the kitchen but it's not operable as there are no exterior steps to it (yet!).

I plan to put a piece of furniture on that wall once we are done remodeling but right now the kitchen is still renovation central - the contractors cut through the kitchen to get to the back and tools and supplies are brought through this way.

Anyway - the wall leading to the door is constantly dirty. I'm thinking I need to add some sort of wainscot to the wall so I'm not constantly painting. What do you think about a brick or tile wainscot? Will a paneled wainscot collect dust?

This is the wall (and one of my dogs)

this is the counter - backsplash hasn't been installed yet

looking into the kitchen from the hall - the door you see there can't be used as there are no stairs to it

Gus is standing in front of the door and wall I am worried about
