Joc17, if the plant is not diseased I say it’s vole damage. When the leaves on the side are shorter than the ones in the center it’s because voles are eating the edges of the crown. The chewed on piece of the crown will produce smaller, shorter leaves. The middle of the crown will still grow the same size leaves as last year.

Zowie---sport of Norwalk Chartreuse. Rare one from the AHS convention auction, donated by Dave Chopko. Nothing super special about it, I just like the way the leaves stand up, and the puckering, in a small package.

Nicholsworth, yes, I have ZZ plant. You know I have to have everything! Haha. Yes I love it. Very easy plant. Doesn't mind indirect light. Mine sits a good 3 or 4 feet away from an East-facing window and still seems happy. They seem to thrive on neglect. I water about every 3 weeks, doesn't care. I just repotted it and it has three new fronds (or whatever they are for this plant). I will probably buy another.

I had bought two ZZ plants for my office at work. One at westward window and one in the office near the printer (I always put plants around the printer to collect the fine dust). The one near the printer grew much better than the one on the windowsill (another shade tolerant plant)...But in the office they got really dusty with time and so I carried them outside into the rain for a few times and then gave them away. I'd love to get one for my home but it is like outside, everything covered with plants and no room left...Lat week I made divisions of a large old Sanseveria and need to find new homes for them now. What a pity you are all so far away :-)

Karin..if all of us lived close to each other we would have a great time!..sharing plants..checking out each other's gardens..but under the circumstances Gardenweb is great..
