Living Room Design Dilemma Home Decorating

cellular vs roller shades

We have a lake Home facing the south so we get a lot of sun. Home Depot suggested cellular shades to block the sun and provide insulation from the gold Minnesota winters. However, I’m thinking they will block the view too much and may look to formal in our somewhat rustic lake home. I’m looking at roller shades with 3% opening but am wondering if that would block the sun enough. Any suggestions?

I should proofread! I meant cold ( brrr) Minnesota winters.. not gold!

No responses? What did you go with. I'm in the opposite corner of the country - S. Florid and considering whether to get cellular for insulation, but I don't especially like the look.
