Misshapen holes or too small in diameter?

Hi Randy thanks for your reply. They seem too small in diameter. Standard size opening is 3 1/2 inches – seems under that on both sides. I contacted the maker and they did say it could be dremmeled. It has to be done slowly and carefully they said of course. Makes me a bit nervous!

That’s what you get with fire clay. They are all misshaped slightly. The cheap ones horrendously so.

It ends up cracking 9 out of 10. And will need replacing.

I meant to follow up sooner with the outcome. The openings were successfully widened enough with a dremel with diamond bit. They were just a little bit too small and misshapen, so I don’t know what would have happened if a lot of dremeling was required. We were very much relieved of course!
