Display quilt blocks

Do any of you display/frame any quilt blocks?? And if so, do you frame them finished, as in quilted, or just frame the block itself?? I have a bunch of Baltimore album blocks (16” squares) I may never get assembled and thought I might frame them instead.

I have framed a couple in my time but they weren't quilted. It would be nicer to quilt them though.

I've framed a couple, also, but mine were quilted. :) I'd say it's a matter of personal preference.

I've pulled a few of the blocks (my favorites) and thinking I'll do a "mini" quilt with them to hang. Which layout do you like better? I thinking a thin green sashing with a small red corner blocks? I'm not sure on the border now. The bottom right (1st)/bottom middle (2nd) block, I'm going to add a small silhouette to the middle of it and add my new married name and date to it.

    Thanks again!!

Your blocks are lovely....I'm with Sharon, the second layout works for me!

Oh my goodness, those are gorgeous- are they hand embroidered? So much work!

I like the bottom layout better but I would swap over the left and right centre row squares. I think the left top and left centre squares are a little too similar and it jars a bit for me.

They are all hand appliqué. They are part of the blocks from a Baltimore Album quilt I was making. It’s actually the quilt that got me into quilting about 10 years ago!! I’m excited to be doing something with he blocks!!

They are just lovely! I like your second arrangement, too.

Hanging them in frames to create a gallery wall, such as this, would give you a wonderful wall of art.

They are beautiful! That's quite an ambitious first project. :O But I guess you don't know what you don't know, right? My first quilt was my own block design (log cabin variation) and all hand pieced and hand quilted. AND king size. LOL

Donna, you sound as ambitious as me!! I never seem to do anything easy. As they say, go big or go home???? I've sewed and done needlework since I was very young, so the sewing part wasn't new, just the quilt part. The blocks in the picture are all hand applique, also headed to be king size the way it was headed!

Larri, I love that display!! That's what I had originally thought about, then thought I might make it an acutal quilt with a border? Too many decisions......
