Hmm, you could try a charcoal wash or provincial glaze over your cherry to try and cut the red. But cherry is sooo pretty - nothing like it! I had cherry floors and cabinetry when we lived in NY - the natural color with no stain is amazing! You could also sand it down, then apply a Loba Invisible 2K product on it (nearly invisible and 100% matte). May almost look hand waxed that way!

This is an older pre iPhone picture before I painted my walls. My kitchen cabinets are at one end of my great room. These cabinets are the red Cherry and the wood tones drive me crazy. We are thinking about replacing the island, but your use of the Benjamin Moore Paint with the reclaimed white oak is the best two tone kitchen I have viewed.
