I received a quote of about $2200 to install a sisal (but jute looking) runner with leather binding and nailhead trim on a basic staircase. (Material costs are separate and not the subject of my question). This seems high to me but I have no experience in this area, and my online research has thus far not been helpful. I’m in Austin TX.

Also, I’m trying to understand the difference in waterfall vs other styles, both for how it looks and functions going over the edge of each stairs and at the bottom. Can anyone give me some pointers or point me to a helpful resource? Thanks!!
