Can anyone tell me about Espoma lawn care products?? I see they have a early spring and a weed and feed just wondering if anyone had any experience with these products and how effective it was
Espoma makes organic fertilizers and a few specialized pest sprays. I don't see a weed and feed in their product line.
You can use an organic fertilizer any day of the year. The Espoma fertilizer contains Hydrolyzed Feather Meal and Pasteurized Poultry Manure. Feather meal is extremely slow release, so it would be good for early spring. Poultry manure is faster acting, so you will see some quick green up from the product. Additional quick green up is not necessarily what you're looking for in the early spring. The grass will awaken when it wants to and take off like a rocket until it burns through the nutrients stored over the winter. If you over stimulate the roots in early spring, you risk more of a burnout than the grass should get. I would wait until at least late April to apply something with poultry manure in it. Other organics should be fine.
