I see you have leaves!..in February!..they look so pretty..I'm looking forward to hosta season..

I've got lots of pips but no leaves yet. When we had warm weather in February last year, it was followed by hard freezes in mid-March. Really stunted my plants last spring - hope it doesn't happen again this year!

Montana Aureomarginata and First Love have both just started to show.

Sub zero ºC here for the next week.

I pushed a layer of potting media over them and recommended a " lie in " for the next 10 days or so.

We have a week with four nights, not in a row even, temps predicted below freezing, starting in March. A week between now and then of beautiful warm weather. I’ll have leaves all over the garden. Pips can take a frost, maybe I’ll cover the leaves and maybe not. I sure would like Winter and Spring to sort out their differences and go back to their old relationship.

zkathy I agree with you winter and spring needs to to some compromise on when ther Season ends and begins. For the past couple of weeks we have had spring like conditions, temperature in the 70’s in February. Several of my plants have leafed out. Crazy,crazy

I think I spoke too soon. One of my Erronema plants has open leaves now. I'm almost certain we'll get another frost this year. Hopefully not a week of mid 20s like last March.
