Does the countertop have laminated edges to appear that thick? Can only find 3cm thick slabs and worried that having edges glued on to make it look thicker will be very obvious!

If you installer is experienced in what they do then the laminated edge is very hard to spot ... I have uploaded a photo of a Caesarstone counter my installer fabricated with a laminated edge as this product was only available in 2cm thickness and like most the client wanted a thicker chunky look. Even at 6" from the edge you are hard pressed to spot any join. With a colour matched resin/epoxy and lots of sanding you would never know.

Michelle Winick Design: Any complaints from customers regarding the Superwhite? I've read that it etches and scratches like marble and one fabricator refuses to use it (apparently out of 7 jobs only 2 didn't crack/crumble during fabrication). Or do people just accept the stains/etching etc? Thank you

I have had positive feedback on the super white. It of course depends on the slab, but chipping and cracking have not happened on any of my projects and my fabricator cuts this very often. It is susceptible to staining and etching, but sealing it well as well as using cutting boards and being careful with red wine, balsamic, and oils is always something you will need to do with any quartzite. It is more durable than marble, but you do need to be a little more careful than if you were using a quartz or granite. Good luck!
