Just purchased this rug. Any suggestions?

I feel that the high pile is a little too contemporary for the style of the dining room. You have a traditional feeling room, so I think you need a more traditional rug. Also, I wouldn’t recommend high pile under a dining table because it will hold on to more crumbs and will be harder to vacuum out. It’s a nice rug but I wouldn’t put it there.

I am not sure what you want as a suggestion.

A great light fixture and something for the table would be a great way to finish off this room.

Lol. that's the kitchen nook. Trying to find something to coordinate with this rug that's in the open family room.

Take a look at this rug. Not exactly the color you are looking for but may satisfy what you and your son are looking for in a dining room.

I was afraid of too much pattern and it too busy with the window treatments and the rug in the family room.

Not a pro but I think it works. Go find a contemporary light fixture and don’t hang it to high!

Your living area is so stunningly beautiful and serene. Not sure why you decided to not do drapes in the dining area.

I would remove the molding in the dining area. Really doesn't work.

I would add drapes over the cornices. The panels can be fixed and attached directly to the cornices. Select a low pile carpet. That shag is not working in the room.

I like soft aquas like you have... but if the right size, this might be too much to add in... unless wall trims were lower in contrast to the paint....
