So I repotted it in a mix of mostly orchid bark with some peat and perlite, and now some of the leaves are drying out and shriveling up. Is that normal?

Depends on where you are located and if you are growing this plant indoors. Generally, you want to wait until plants are in active growth and a period of root elongation before you repot........the summer solstice is typically considered a benchmark date for this activity.

Oh. Well. I didn't know there was a specific time for this. Hopefully it'll recover. This certainly isn't the worst mistake I've made with a plant. I'll make sure I remember that for next time :P

And I don't always wait for the optimum time either :-)) Sometimes you need to do it when you need to do it! I have not found that it made a significant difference.....only that the plant may not respond quite as rapidly if done in the "off season'.

Well, mine hadn’t been repotted in almost 2 years so it was time whether it was off season or not.

i have an update, little bit of good news and bad news. Bad news is, the tree has lost almost all its leaves... but the good news is that there are leaf buds forming on almost every branch! So hopefully it can make a full recovery!

is there anything I can do for it when the weather gets nice to encourage it to fruit? I’ve had it for over 2 years now and although i get TONS of flowers, I’ve never gotten fruit. I think the new soil will help but if there’s anything else I might be able to do... thought?
