If you have small kids, I wouldn't even hesitate to get clipped. If not, I still wouldn't hesitate to get clipped, lol.

I’d go square. I had them clip my island n I hate the way they did it. It’s at a weird angle, the look is nothing like we had in our other house. I was disappointed.. good luck. :)

And get the lighting first. It may change the formica color you select. It is amazing what good lighting does for your space.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and advice! I have a hard time taking photos of my kitchen. It doesn't appear that dark at home, but I will address the issue of lighting.

As Warren suggested - and I don't know if they do this with laminate - but if you can do rounded... that's what I'd do (and what I did with my quartz.)

Remember that laminate is a plastic sheet folded over to get that rounded edge. It can’t fold over a corner and be round. Any clipped or radius corner will be a flat self edge.

They do Formica countertops in a curved round look.

We did this years ago n it looked nice, I’d do that instead of clipped.

Its possible to achieve a rounded corner using vertical grade plam ,maybe a inch to 3/4 radius, no smaller. You would use vertical grade on the edge, and regular grade on the top. If that's not a option, go with square
