What company had sent you that very poor quality plant?

I bought it from Michigan bulb.

The bark is very dark, maybe that's just normal coloring for this variety of peach, though I hope the graft portion is actually alive? When planting, you can always place a small stake in the ground on the opposite side of the bent branch. Then tie a piece of twine around the branch and over time, pull the branch up parallel to the stake. As for that bit of an extra sucker, you can just snip it off.

It's got mold growing on it as well. It is a very inferior plant and looks crummy overall. I'd ask for a refund.

And just an FYI, but Michigan Bulb is just about the worst mail order nursery in existence!! Gets terrible ratings, typically due to dismal or nonexistent customer service and poor quality, improperly labeled plants. There are so many other better vendors out there!!

As for my guess, you got a dead tree...the graft, [seems the top] looks dead, with a sharp knife, cut a little into the cambium, [outer skin] and see...should look greenish, not brown. Thanks for the response. The white stuff is actually not mold. It’s just white paint marking on the tree. As for the darkness of the branch, it could be due to the fact it was still wet when I unpackaged it. I’ll keep an eye on it. But I’ll see if it’s worth trying to stake it and tying a twine on the opposite end. I just hope it will be able to grow upward without looking crooked. I had ordered from them before and had issues resolved without an issue. Perhaps it might be easier for me to just request for a new one.

Seems the center straight branch was dead and was pruned back to the next live side branch...I wouldn't be concerned for being a little crocked..it will look less over the years.

I have received many plants from Michigan Bulb, from citrus to strawberries to an apricot tree. That tree you received is pathetic and looks dead. I would get my money back or see if they would send you another. They have good customer service.
