Does this duvet work?

I picked up this duvet cover and shams (pillow cases really) because I wanted more color in the br. I think it works well with the rugs, it actually has every color in it. Unfortunately the only color not in the bedding in the lavender of the walls. I was thinking Simply White BM. I also picked up a couple of prints I was planning to have framed. Bed is not made up properly, I will need a couple of accent pillows and a better color for pillowcases. Opinions?

I like the bedding with the rug and prints! I like the simply white idea too.

With the white doors and trim, I would go with more color on the walls. I like the idea of the BM Rolling Hills but you'd really have to see the color in your room's lighting to get a better idea. On my monitor it looks like it might be too olive.

I love the bedding. But definitely the wall colour must change -- not sure from what I see on my screen that BM Simply White is right. The walls should have a colour that tones well with the background of the pattern, if you are going neutral. It could be a touch lighter or darker, but the BM sample I see there looks too green, so I think you need something with a terracotta pink undertone, perhaps.. Of course screens don't tell the truth about colour.

The BM Rolling HIlls that Saypoint has posted would work well, but give the room a very different look. Could be wonderful, if there's enough light in there.

I'm not convinced that BM Rolling Hills will play well with the wood given the light conditions in the room.

I think I might prefer a green more in the family of the green in the duvet cover. I think that would look lovely with the bedding, furniture, and rugs.

From what I can tell on my monitor, I like the possibility of BM Soft Fern.

The lavender walls are such a lovely and important element in the room that I would hate to see them downgraded and lost to some shade of gray or white, if that makes any sense.

Thanks. Maybe I should just look for a duvet with lavender in it and replace the rugs. Easier than repainting.

The walls really are gorgeous, and so wonderful with the wood, if that helps having to come to terms with more shopping : ) .

On closer inspection, the duvet has some very small areas of lavender where the blue overlaps the pink. Here it is again withou the blue sheets and rugs, and with a white quilted coverlet. Will it work with the wall color? With new rugs?

I think it works, and if you think it doesn't, I would just add one lumbar style pillow/case with all of the colors including lavender, in a slightly larger print than the duvet cover and rugs.

I think it works very well. It's a very pretty old bed and I love the white sheets on it.

With the new styling of the bed I think you're good to go. The white accents on the bed made all the difference. Try it with the rugs and see if that will work. If not, I would look for a single large rug rather than two smaller ones with borders and put it partially under the bed. Gold or yellow and lavender might be a consideration or just a plain yellow which complements lavender well.

Some decorative pillow to consider. The duvet will likely be stored for the summer, so the bed will be all white. I plan to buy some quilted or matelasse white shams unless a color would or better? I already have the bunny pillow, which isn’t fabulous with the rug.

Also considered replacing the rug with a cleaner color.

    Another possibility

I think a fabulous bunny pillow doesn't necessarily have to go with the rug. Just because it's fabulous : ) .

Here’s the bunny, the other pictures were a bit blurry. It’s very cute, hooked wool. I have a thing for bunnies.
