Roman Tub Faucet Replacement

We are replacing our roman tub faucet. We found a faucet that we like but on the box it says "Installs on 10" center". What does this mean? Before we buy a new faucet, is there a certain measurement I need to make to make sure we don't buy one that doesn't fit? The faucet is deck mounted. Thanks!

A 10" center in this instance means that that is the required center-to-center spacing between the holes for the hot and cold handles. If your existing filler handles have a different spacing (say, 8" or 12 "), the new one won't work for you.
