This particular A/C unit is specifically designed to be installed through either a casement or slider style window opening. Typically, single/double hung windows use just a standard window A/C but there are some unique window openings out there. One thing you must be sure of is that your window opening measurements fall somewhere in between those min./max. width and height requirements to ensure the proper fit/installation.
