How to make my substrate plant substainable.

Hey i have bought a dessert substrate from my local reptilestore. i mixed it with sphagmum moss to retain better moist for my plants. But as you can see my plants arent thriving. So i came to ask what can i mix into my substrate for it to substain healthy plants and an eco system.

I already marked down to use..

- tea leaves (real bio camellia sinensis)

- the dead plants in my tank

Those will break down into the ground for better nutritons.

And yes i know i over watered my aloe vera it was a big mistake. Got any tips for me? Would be glad to hear anything that helps better my environment for my beardy.
