A picture with the cutting in what you think is the right direction would help. also if you know what variety it is.

Sorry for getting back to this so late.

If the person that gave it to me told me what kind it is, I've forgotten. It was one big piece that he gave me, and he didn't give me any instructions, other than which end should go up, but the cloth I had around in on which I wrote the direction got removed, which left me with no clue.

Here are three pictures of it. The first picture is of the whole thing, which is about 2 feet or a little over that. The second one is of one end, and the third is of the other end. It's been months since he gave it to me, so this all may be for nothing, if it's too old to root.
