I don’t think you need to tile all the way up around the window. It is such a narrow strip. But I would definitely all the way up behind the range

I would tile around the window because it's in an alcove. It would be easier with narrower molding or no molding if you're able to tile inside the window frame. Keeping the trim, I'd paint it so it disappears. Also, don't continue the tile around the corner on either side of that wall.

If you don't want to tile the entire window, at least bring the tile up to about the height of the hood.

I think you need to go all the way around the window too.

Ditch the molding that doesn't work with the window and tile all the way around.
