Do you prefer teal curtains (same color as in your rug) or white? I suggest whatever you choose, you do it in both rooms- will give a cohesive look and flow. You need to move your rods down under the transom window - it would be a sin to cover them up.

I think the rug in the DR is too small. I also don't like how busy the rug is. Yes, you do need some sort of sideboard or console for the room - a room with nothing but a table looks very bare. I agree that the art is too small.

Yeah, that mirror's just not working in the room. It's too small and it reflects diners when they chew dinner. Not a good solution.

Can you extend the curtain rods in the LR and move the curtains over so the windows won't be so covered up? You might need to remove the center picture.

I think simple cream colored curtains will work best, with perhaps a self pattern. I wouldn't advise patterned curtains in this room. Frankly I feel the living room curtains should also be a lighter shade of gray. It's a very nice room, though.

I think the dark shade of gray works ok but the same white that is in the carpet would work better. Remove the picture between the two windows as it seems crowded. Can you extend the both rods a few inches on each end so the curtains fill up the wall a bit more?

Regarding your wall art. It is important that you select art which sings to you! Fall in love with a piece of art and don't rush it. Our home is filled with art we found on vacations. Create your own story in your home.

Just work on getting the scale right. In the living room, a long horizontal piece would work well. Approximately 2 ft less in length than the sofa itself. And can fill the wall 2 ft from ceiling or less. These are just estimates for scale to help you avoid buying art that is too small for your spaces.

Finally, resist the urge to fill up all your walls. Be strategic.
