I think Rhizoctonia Root Rot has probably run it's course. Big Daddy was the only one showing symptoms last year, so hopefully, I'm done with it. I'm down to about 5 hosta from a high of 85 or so, and I'm ready to try some new ones. Apparently, the blues and some of the fragrants are resistant than others.

This time around, I'll be able to choose the varieties that have done well for me in the past.

As a medical professional -do a FIT- is a fecal immunochemical test or paper card test ( fecal occult blood) this is a screening for colon cancer- (lower GI).

Paula, my condolences on the loss of your friend. Keep going strong! Thank you *everyone* for the alphabet. Winter blues can certainly be blue in NE Ohio, and last year was tough for me personally too, but all of you have definitely eased the gloomy times, and now the sun is making its reappearance and I guess reminding us to stay hopeful and look forward to new beginnings. Spring is almost here! Hope all of our plants have made in through the Winter and will soon be greeting us. Virtual hugs to y'all.

This alphabet was a fun one! I hope you will check in now and then, Paula. Think of where you were at the start of this year's alphabet, and where you've made it to by now. Almost all finished with treatments. I hope all your checkups go well and can become less frequent as time goes by.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I lost my best friend last October, and it's hard to accept that things change. I'm glad this forum helped you because it's helped me, too. Your willingness to share and make the effort to do the alphabet has inspired me.

Spring is coming, and we're all still here so let's make the best of things and plant some hostas!

You know us hostaholics NEED hosta in every way we can get them---buying, planting, pictures, talking, reading etc. So you, my dear Paula, have helped us get our hosta fix! I thank you so much. Glad you are almost over your radiation treatments for round 1. Yes you are one of the lucky ones. The cancer diagnosis is a shocking one. My closest friend (of 40 years) was one of the lucky ones too, and my sister too. But it does take time to heal physically and emotionally. I sense you are one tough cookie! LOL I have confidence that you will continue to get stronger and stronger!

I am sorry to hear about your friend. That is sad and heartbreaking news.

Take your time Paula. Be good to yourself. And---it would be really nice if you could drop in and visit the forum before December 26, 2018. December 26th is just too long to wait to hear from you!
