I have a solid surface shower, a subway tiled bath shower combo and a LFT thin grout tiled shower. They are equally easy to maintain because we squeegee all wet surfaces after showering so this few seconds saves us weekly deep cleaning time and labor. Without squeegeeing the solid surface looked spotty and the tile grout would need more weekly maintaince to avoid molding but with daily drying I only have to spray with disinfectant once per week before entering for a shower, rinse while showing with hand held, and squeegee dry after and after years of this practice I have zero signs of mold or dark grout.

I have a shower with 12" X 12" tiles on the wall and another with 18" X 18" tiles. One is high gloss porcelain and the other is semi-matte porcelain. Both have 1/16" epoxy grout lines. No issues in regard to maintenance. I simply spend 10 seconds to do a quick squeegee after the shower and nothing else.

Do squeegees have long handles? After googling many of them seem to have short handles which means that I would have to get on hands and knees to squeegee a shower floor dry - am I missing something in terms of their construction.

Ideally for ergonomic reasons, a squeegee should have a handle long enough so one can easily reach high and low areas but the ones I see have short handles. There is one model that advertises itself as extendable to 18" but the majority of "shower squeegees" have short handles.

"Hands and knees"? I bend over at the waist and run the squeegee around for a couple of seconds. I wouldn't want a squeegee with a long handle because then I would have a harder time storing it. But if you feel you need a long-handled one, there doesn't seem to be a shortage of them: Long-handled squeegee

If you stick with regular (short) handled squeegees, they actually make nicer looking ones that you don't need to hide away: Love-Kankei squeegee
