I would pick the blue from the map and paint the wall that color. For the windows you could use a shade of some sort , you could paint the window trim same as the wall to blend in even .

You need to concentrate on adding color and interest to the "people" part of the space. If you decorate nicely with pillows, rugs, tables, lamps then the high ceilings and walls look airy and light, not bare.
